Happy New Year from Chateau de la Fuente!

Because of the devastating floods last October, we planted tobacco late this year. However, things are starting out great at Chateau de la Fuente, where the wrapper leaves of Fuente Fuente OpusX are grown. On January 11th, we drove out to Chateau de la Fuente and visited the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation Complex located next to Chateau de la Fuente. It was a picture-perfect day and took some photographs. We would like to share the magical moments at Chateau de la Fuente with you.

Fuente Fuente OpusX Robusto just received 93 rating in the January/February issue of Cigar Aficionado. A lot of great things are planned in the coming months of 2008.

The children at the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation Complex would like to thank you for your generous donation last year and wish you a wonderful new year for you and your family.

I am standing next to Scorpio painted on the rocks next to the gazebo. Scorpio was the astrological birth sign of my grandfather, Arturo Fuente. In honor of our company founder, we rolled Fuente Fuente OpusX Scorpio in 2005 and released them in Journey to Chateau de la Fuente last November. They were aged for 3 years when released.

I am standing in front of three-week-old seedlings, which will be planted in the rich, red soil of Chateau de la Fuente when they reach the age of five to six weeks.

We planted tobacco late this year but will start harvesting in the spring. Things are looking great at Chateau de la Fuente.

I had a moment to sit down with Danilo, who is the heart and soul of Chateau de la Fuente. We savored cigars together.

Because of the devastating floods caused by Tropical Storm Noel last October, we could not plant tobacco in some parts of Chateau de la Fuente. But we are going to re-build our plantation better than ever before.

Thanks to your generous donations, the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation Complex located next to Chateau de la Fuente is continuing its mission to improve the welfare of the impoverished children in El Caribe, Dominican Republic.
